Me And My Dad :: Portrait :: Day 88

An old friend from high school recently mailed two items that had once been keepsakes of mine. One was a “Pixies” pin that my Mom had given me over sixteen years ago, the other was this photograph of me and my Dad taken in 1977. It’s nice to have them back. Thank you, Amber.

Muddy Cousins :: Portrait :: Day 87

Owen played with his cousin at their Grandma’s house in Whonnock, Maple Ridge. Their favorite spot, much to the dismay of Grandma, is a muddy ditch that runs the length of the property. Hours are spent creating dams, floating boats, splashing, and jumping. It’s a great place to be a kid.

Earth Hour 2010, Langley, BC, Canada :: Portrait :: Day 86

Tonight my family participated in Earth Hour. While Owen and I baked a snack (homemade macaroons), Izzy and Christa got the candles ready. For one hour, we turned out all the lights in our house, played Chutes & Ladders, read books, and hung out together. All by candlelight. It was magic. My kids are too...

Kung Fu In The Park :: Portrait :: Day 85

There is comfort in having friends that without a moment’s notice, will drop what they’re doing and bust out some kung fu. Just awesome! This is one of my best friends. I put Isabelle in my favorite eyelet dress and had plans to take some photos near the French doors is our house. As I was setting up, Isabelle started singing a soft song while tracing the window panes. I quickly stopped what I was doing and took a few shots. I didn’t nail the exposure,...

Wishbone :: Portrait :: Day 79

We used to fight and bicker as kids when it came to who got to compete in the wishbone contest. I remember many a wishbone breaks ending in tears. My kids think it’s very amusing so we’re keeping with tradition. It’s a little more competitive now because not only does the winner get to make...

A Grandma And Her Granddaughter :: Portrait :: Day 78

All the kids were out in our neighborhood tonight. There was a lot running and yelling, a good old rumpus. My parents came over for a visit and I took this photo of Ms. Belle and her Grandma Susan. Two peas in a pod. Add me, and you would have three. Good night and thank...

My GrandFather, Me, & Sunglasses :: Portrait :: Day 76

I promised not to pull any photos from the archives but I figured that as long as I posted one new image each day, it would all be “A” okay. The first image is of the late, but great, Johnny Galick. He used to make me laugh a lot and I would kindly return the...
